Welcome to the Artificially Intelligent Monday Tech Motivation! The week it’s time to profile Andrew Ng.
This article is a little pick me up to start your week in tech with a little bit of motivation.
This segment will be profiling inspiring people working in tech from across the board and sharing why they can be a source of inspiration. In addition to this, I’ll share some of the key takeaways I believe are relevant for each of us as we navigate our own lives in tech – no matter where we are currently.
For this my first profile, let me introduce Andrew Ng.
Who is Andrew Ng?
If you have ever tried to learn about machine learning and AI then you have probably heard of Andrew Ng.
Andrew is a Chinese-American computer scientist famous for many things, including his popular free machine learning course. This course is the first introduction many budding data scientists have to the world of machine learning.
You will find this course on Coursera, a self-education platform founded by Andrew Ng amongst others.
He is a professor at Stanford.
In addition to this, Andrew founded and directed the Google Brain Deep Learning Project. Finally, he has founded Landing AI to help enterprises access cutting edge AI technology.
Why he inspires me
Anyone who wants to get into machine learning is inspired by Andrew Ng, he has taken machine learning and AI to the masses!
Not only that but he is using his resources to help people develop AI for good. He is passionate about the power of AI to support healthcare and other good courses.
What could be more inspiring than that?
What we can take from Andrew Ng’s story?
Two things that we can all take from Andrew’s story are:
- AI is for everyone: Anyone can get involved in this technology, we all have a place in the development of AI
- The future can be positive: Unlike other AI giants, Andrew Ng is positive about the future of technology and the impact it can have
I think we can all agree Andrew Ng is setting a great example!
