Women are pretty awesome aren’t they?

Not only are they responsible for all human life on this planet (!) but they have also been responsible for some pretty remarkable inventions over the years.

1/ Caller ID and Call Waiting

Dr Shirley Ann Jackson

    • Invented by: Dr. Shirley Ann Jackson, the first African-American woman to gain a Ph.D. from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology.
    • Overview: Dr. Jackson’s research led to the invention of Caller ID which gives the call recipient the option to see who is calling before they answer the phone.
    • Time of invention: 1970s

Grace Hopper

    • Invented by: Olga D Gonzalez-Sanabria
    • Overview: She was vital in the invention of Long Cycle-Life Nickel-Hydrogen Batteries”  which are used to power space stations

I think we will all agree that these women have had been pretty key in shaping our society today.
