Women are pretty awesome aren’t they?

Not only are they responsible for all human life on this planet (!) but they have also been responsible for some pretty remarkable inventions over the years.

Dr Shirley Ann Jackson

    • Invented by: Dr. Shirley Ann Jackson, the first African-American woman to gain a Ph.D. from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology.
    • Overview: Dr. Jackson’s research led to the invention of Caller ID which gives the call recipient the option to see who is calling before they answer the phone.

Marie Van Brittan Brown

    • Overview: Inspired by having to wait long periods for police to attend her home she developed a home security system.

I think we will all agree that these women have had been pretty key in shaping our society today.
